Berkeley. Ferrigno has taken a coaching position at San Diego State University, effective immediately. In a farewell letter to his team, Ferrigno said the new position presented him “with an opportunity that allows me to better provide for my family and for our future. This opportunity just came up over Christmas break; I was not looking to leave Saint Mary’s.” His two stepsons will remain at the high school, and he plans to continue being an active part of the parent community, commuting between Southern California and his home in the East Bay. Ferrigno commended the Panther athletes for their passion, heart, and effort, in spite of the lack of a practice field or home game while the school’s new track and field complex was constructed. The new Thomas M.
