January Minutes approved, Shawna Foster moved, and Nancy Fenstermacher seconded
School Report – Brother Kenneth
*Crab Feed ran smoothly. Working students earned $50.00 as tips;
*Curriculum, potential changes: a Trimester system -- 70-90 minute classes,
starting Fall 2011.
*Next phase of construction is a Music
Building.
Treasurer Report– Nancy Torres
*Gave report at 1/26/10 Board Meeting; Update in MARCH to include
numbers for an on-going sponsorship for Panther Prep nights for Fall and Spring
semesters and Crab Fee and Silent Auction revenues.
Standing Committees Report
a. Communications – Cathy Harmon (Is email blast working?) Good email
blasts. Need more info from class representatives for Parent News on webpage.
b. Volunteers Coordinator – Kathy Hill - revising the volunteer form. Look for
it in March.
c. Hospitality – Erlinda Vance (Inventory) - Need more coordinators.
Recommendation: green plates & utensils
d. Booster – Michael Conn, reported late February, update March.
e. eScrip - Rita Kovas - At the Crab Feed left eScrip flyer at each table.
Attempts eScrip recruitment anywhere possible.
f. Crab Feed – Cindy Hill Ford, not present. Tabled report, March.
g. Silent Auction – Babs Wardwell & Janet James. Gathering financial
information. 542 guests, 516 paid. Sales $34,800 (higher than last year).
Raised $1840 Cabin raffle, $5200 Ireland
raffle. Ceramic vases made by students sold well. Items not sold: 3 collectible
items, Channel for Men, Oakland Feather River camp, family portrait. After
attempt made on webpage to sell, the items leftover to be donated to FACE for
their auction. SAT coupons give to Janet Hack for sponsoring financially needy
students to attend courses. WEBSITE: Principal Party, and other items. Panther
HOOPS auction item could be donated to feeder schools for their auction.
h. Teacher Appreciation Program – Elaine Ercolini - raffle for instructors;
Bro. Kenneth will pull a faculty's name. Faculty luncheon (Soph class
sponsors).
6. On-going Business
a. Panther Prep Night – Nancy Torres update in March
b. Finals Week Luncheon (Hospitality) -- need to hear more about what happened
at Fall finals; more communication needed; start on Tuesday and supply lunch
items for 2 days. Have individuals volunteering to bring food RSVP. Tabled,
March.
c. Sodexo (Cal Games) update – no report. Who is coordinating this activity.

7. New Business
a. Senior activities from here on until graduation that PA supports –
Junior Rep coordinates (get budget and dates). Set-up begins on Thursday, May
20 after lunch for Friday, May 21 (plan for at least 5 hours); 29 May,
appetizers for 600 people (tho' price for 500 people), and decorations. PA pays
for the senior class gift bags, only; school pays for other items. Junior Class
Rep. has binder with all the details from last year's event. Deadlines are
approaching for caterers, and getting items ready.
b. Student Interview Night - Feb. 11 (5-9) -- Kathy Hill, have volunteers; may
need more, basically all set.
c. Parent Formation Evening – Feb. 17 (
d. Any March events?? Career Day usually need volunteers.
e. "Road to Nowhere" - documentary regarding the increased
expectations put on children to excel, in everything. This pressure has led to
an increased numbers of suicides. Will show at Grand Lake Theatre.
MARCH:
Wish list from Peter Imperial - Public Announcement (PA) system;
Lock down -- how to communicate. Wireless system. Safety reasons - Peter can
talk about that. It would be money well spent (like PA financially sponsoring
PowerSchool). The whole campus should have PA access.
